EFX House Rules

At East Coast EFX, we’re guided by nine overarching principles. Collectively they define our values, interactions, and approach to creating elite websites.

Pay Attention. We pay attention to our customers—and their customers. We pay attention to the big concept and the tiniest details. We stay present to what needs to be done. How often do we get clients who come to us, completely apprehensive about 'trying again' to find a web development company because they were burned so bad in the past? Well, more times than we care to say.

Never Settle. We admit it: we’re perfectionists. We won’t pronounce a project complete until we (and you) are completely satisfied with the design, usability, and architecture.

Tell the Truth. We believe in speaking the truth because it’s the right thing to do—and because it’s the right strategy, too. Culturally, we’ve arrived at a moment when people are profoundly fed up with being lied to. This is the Age of Authenticity—people are looking to make real connections. You help make that happen by speaking your truth.

Be Respectful. People aren’t idiots and must not be taken for granted. Our websites—and our interactions— reflect our respect for everyone’s humanity and intelligence, no matter how 'tech saavy' they are.

Think for Yourself. Conventional wisdom isn’t always wise. When our personal experiences, accumulated over time, invite a different conclusion from how it’s “supposed” to be done, we go with our experience, and it has yet to lead us astray.

Stay Current. In today’s whirlwind of change, yesterday’s successes are tomorrow’s failures. We are committed to staying on top of what’s coming down the pike—and what’s just arrived, so that you always recieve a product which aligns with the latest web standards and best practices.

Know What Works. There are time-tested rules for design and implementation. We honor them—and also refine them as necessary.

Make It “Us.” The days of the solo operator are over. Today’s winners don’t go at it alone: they build communities. There’s a new, virtual tribalism out there: companies succeed by recruiting a great crew. The best websites drive this process by blurring the boundary between “me” and “you” and creating a sense of ownership.

Talent Tells. You can’t build a great product with average craftspeople. Let our portfolio speak to this.
